Eddie Murphy will star in a new Netflix movie about actor Rudy Ray Moore, the star of the blaxploitation film series “Dolemite”.
Moore was a stand-up comedian in the 1970s who created the alter ego Dolemite who starred in his 1975 self-financed blaxploitation movie about a nightclub owner who is skilled at kung fu.
Moore went on to make three sequels. Craig Brewer (Hustle & Flow) directs the new one from a script by Scott Alexander and Larry Karaszewski.
