DVDxDV has launched an update to its DVD ripping software, DVDxDV Pro 3.0. Pro rips unencrypted DVDs into QuickTime video files, wo allow eding or re-editing in iMovie and Final Cut in mind.
Pro can also switches between PAL and NTSC formats and export to 1080i. Timecodes, subtitles and 24-bit audio can be extracted, and the software can perform 3:2 pulldown conversion. Alternately Pro can convert DVDs to MP4 files for use on iPhones, iPods, iPads or Apple TVs. Imports can be set to either interlaced or progressive scan.
Version 3.0 adds a new timeline similar to that in iMovie or Final Cut. The timeline can be zoomed in to find specific points, or zoomed out for faster navigation of a disc.
DVDxDV Pro 3.0 requires Mac OS X 10.4 or higher and QuickTime 7.0.3. It retails for $80
