Apple Pay will reach CVS and 7-Eleven retail locations later this year, said Apple CEO Tim Cook during the company’s earnings call with investors.
The company didn’t say when Apple Pay will reach these retailers, but they are on deck. Apple noted that Apple Pay was responsible for more mobile payments than Square and PayPal combined during the second quarter of the year.
Apple Pay is available from the newest iPhones, which are equipped with the proper wireless radio chip. Apple Pay is secured with the fingerprint reader on the iPhone 6s, 7, and 8, and Face ID on the iPhone X.
