While do promotion for the upcoming Sons of Anarchy spin-off series Mayans MC, former Battlestar Galactica actor Edward James Olmos has revealed that his character in Shane Black’s upcoming The Predator film has been cut.
Olmos was reportedly playing a four-star general in the film but his role wasn’t important or relevant enough to the story that Black ultimately made the decision to remove his scenes in the film:
“I’m not in the show though – It was too long so my character, they had to take me out. They were like half an hour, 3/4 of an hour too long. So I understand why. It was gracious of them to call me and tell me, ‘Hey, we really feel bad,’ you know?”
The film conducted some large-scale reshoots back in March which redid much of the film’s third act. It’s not clear if Olmos was involved in those. Boyd Holbrook, Trevante Rhodes, Sterling K. Brown, Thomas Jane, Alfie Allen, Olivia Munn, Yvonne Strahovski, Jake Busey, Keegan-Michael Key, and Jacob Tremblay star in the film.
The Predator opens on September 14th.
