Last week’s delayed Nintendo Direct broadcast will apparently be rescheduled for Thursday at 3pm PDT.
Multiple “trusted sources” tipped off Nintendo Life – which correctly predicted the last two Nintendo Directs, including last week’s postponed broadcast – to this new time and date. Last week’s Direct was also originally scheduled for a 3pm PDT Thursday slot.
Seemingly adding further credence to the report, the Twitter account for Platinum Train, a Switch game currently only available in Japan, tweeted this morning that it may have “a little surprise announcement” on Thursday.
9/13の更新ではちょっとビックリの発表が!・・・あるかもしれません。
どうぞお楽しみに~。— プラチナ・トレイン (@ptrain_official) September 11, 2018
Nintendo itself also appears to be hinting that it’s getting ready to make some sort of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp-Splatoon 2 crossover content.
“Goodness! What’s going on here?” tweeted Animal Crossing’s official UK account. “We’re supposed to be getting a sneak peek at what’s to come…but all I see are those bright colors. Hmmm…something about this does look familiar. What could it be?”

That and other announcements would have likely already been made public and official if it wasn’t for an earthquake forcing the Nintendo Direct to be delayed. It was a turbulent week for Nintendo when it came to the weather, as a typhoon also knocked the letter “N” off the company’s logo on its headquarters.
Several announcements presumably planned for the Direct ended up leaking, such as the apparent name of the next Yoshi game.
