Variety has reported that A24 has bought the North American distribution rights to In Fabric, a horror-thriller film that premiered at the Toronto Film Festival and is part of the second wave of programming at this year’s Fantastic Fest, making its U.S. debut on September 21.
In Fabric is a film that’s part surreal thriller, part giallo love letter, part fashion collage, and all hypnotic originality. Directed and written by Peter Strickland (Katalin Varga, The Duke of Burgundy), the horror movie follows the tale of a cursed dressed and the unusual London department store it comes from.
The movie stars Oscar nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Secrets & Lies, Without a Trace), Hayley Squires (Collateral, I, Daniel Blake), Leo Bill (28 Days Later, Becoming Jane), Julian Barratt (The Mighty Boosh, Mindhorn), Steve Oram (Sightseers, The World’s End), and Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, The Darkest Minds).
In Fabric is produced by Andy Starke, with Rose Garnett, Lizzie Francke, Phil Hunt, Compton Ross, Stephen Kelliher, Hilary Davis, Andrew Boswell, Ben Wheatley, and Ian Benson serving as executive producers. BFI Film Fund, BBC Films, Head Gear Films, Metrol Technology, and Twickenham Studios financed the project.
A24 will release the film in 2019.
