Samsung has upgraded its camera lineup today with three new compact cameras.
The ST100 is the first true ultra-compact to use the technology and can preview self-portraits or other shots while still keeping an entirely internalized, 35-175mm equvialent 5X zoom lens; the ST600 uses a conventional barrel with the same zoom but a 27-135mm wide-angle zoom.
The DualView has been upgrade with a larger screen at 1.8 inches. The two snap photos at 14.2 megapixels with image stabilization and record 720p movies. They appropriately both use touchscreens for primary control and support tap-to-focus as well as a gesture-based interface.
Samsung ships the DualView pair in September at prices of $330 for the larger ST600 and $350 for the ST100.
The PL200 lacks DualView and a touchscreen but shoots with a 7X, 31-217mm lens. The 14.2-megapixel sensor and 720p video are similar. The price is $180. It ships at the same time as the ST series models.
