Google tweeted support for folding devices, what it calls “foldables,” at the Android Developer Summit.
Google says this is a new form factor coming from Android device makers next year. With native support for foldables baked into Android, apps will be able to run seamlessly as the device folds and unfolds. This achieves this form factor’s chief feature, which Google says is screen continuity.
Google didn’t spell out any specific devices. Samsung is widely expected to announce a folding phone in the near future.
