The only real action tentpole left for the rest of the year is the DC Comics adaptation Aquaman from Warner Bros. Pictures.
With tickets having just gone on sale, the James Wan-directed feature is scoring some big interest early with Atom Tickets reporting that it is the company’s top advanced ticket seller ever in its first 24 hours – beating the previous 24-hour ticket sales record set by Avengers: Infinity War earlier this year.
Atom’s first day sales include those sold for the Amazon Prime/Warner advance screening partnership for the film on December 15th. They’re not the only ones seeing big numbers though as Fandango reports that the film’s first-day pre-sales with them is eclipsing both Venom and Mission: Impossible – Fallout.
Aquaman is slated to open in cinemas December 21st.
