After more than a year on the New York Times Bestseller List, Maria Semple’s novel Where’d You Go, Bernadette is coming to the big screen with the help of filmmaker Richard Linklater and actress Cate Blanchett. The first trailer for the film arrived this morning.
The story follows the lives of one family after the odd disappearance of the agoraphobic architect, wife, and mother Bernadette Fox right before a holiday to Antarctica. Bee, Bernadette’s 15-year-old daughter, tries to piece together what happened to her mother.
Semple and Linklater worked on the script with Billy Crudup, Kristin Wiig, Judy Greer, Laurence Fishburne, and newcomer Emma Nelson co-starring.
TWhere’d You Go, Bernadette opens March 22nd.
