Netflix has released the first poster for The King.
Timothee Chalamet and Joel Edgerton lead the cast which blends Shakespeare’s two-part Henry the IV plays and Henry V into one narrative and changes the dialogue to make it more accessible. Animal Kingdom director David Michod charis the film.
Chalamet will play the young disgraced Henry V who inherits the crown during a rocky time in English history and must learn how to be king with the help of Falstaff (Edgerton).
Robert Pattinson plays French prince The Dauphin, Ben Mendelsohn is King Henry IV, Lily-Rose Depp will play French Princess Catherine, Tom Glynn-Carney is Hotspur, and Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie is Philippa. Edgerton co-wrote the script with Michod.
The King will first play on the Fall film circuit with a world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. After its debut, the film open in select theaters and will be released on the service this Fall.
