IT Chapter Two Wins The Weekend’s Box Office

Warner Bros. and New Line Cinema’s IT Chapter Two opened as the #1 film domestically, debuting with $91 million in the US and $94 million internationally for a global opening of $185 million. The sequel was down compared to the 2017 original, which opened with $123 million two years ago debuting to the highest opening weekend for a horror movie of all time.

Lionsgate and Millennium’s Angel Has Fallen slipped to the #2 spot at the domestic box office, falling 49% and bringing in an estimated $6 million. The sequel has officially brought in $53.46 million in the US, down from the previous entry in the series which had a theatrical run with $62.5 million.

Universal Pictures’ Good Boys fell to third place and brought in $5.39 million over the weekend. Overall the comedy now sits at $66.8 million domestic take.

Walt Disney Pictures’ The Lion King slipped on the rocks and landed in fourth place, bringing in $4.193 million for a US total of $529 million. Internationally the film brought in another $13.4 million for an international total of $1.069 billion and a worldwide total of $1.599 billion. T671 billion.

The faith based film Overcomer stayed fifth place with $3.75 million, giving it a US total of $24.7 million.
