Comedy Central has officially renewed its long-running adult animated comedy series South Park for a further three seasons of ten episodes each. This will give the show 26 seasons and 327 episodes.
The news comes ahead of the Season 23 premiere on September 25th. Co-created by Matt Stone and Trey Parker, the series follows a group of unruly Colorado kids along with their outrageous and colorful town, through all of their foul-mouthed adventures.
Parker and Stone said in a statement:
“Apparently, our efforts to get our own show cancelled have fallen short. Luckily, we love Comedy Central and Kent and our staff so we are looking forward to new cancellation opportunities in the next few years.”
Comedy Central president Kent Alterman adds that the pair “will do as many seasons as they would like”.
