After its New York Comic Con premiere, Universal Pictures has released the official trailer for Sam Mendes’ 1917, a World War I epic with a major major twist – the film unfolds as one unbroken camera shot.
Set at the height of the war, two young British soldiers – Schofield (George MacKay) and Blake (Dean-Charles Chapman) are given a seemingly impossible mission. In a race against time, they must cross enemy territory and deliver a message that will stop a deadly attack on hundreds of soldiers – Blake’s own brother among them.
Benedict Cumberbatch, Colin Firth, Richard Madden, Mark Strong, Andrew Scott, Daniel Mays, Adrian Scarborough and Jamie Parker co-star. Mendes wrote the screenplay with Krysty Wilson-Cairns.
Universal Pictures will release the 1917 in limited release on December 25th and wide on January 10th 2020.
