Fox Searchlight Pictures has now debuted what they call a ‘final trailer’ for the Guillermo del Toro-produced horror tale Antlers. This is a very odd movie since the film doesn’t open for another four months yet.
Acclaimed director Scott Cooper (Black Mass, Crazy Heart) helms the film which follows a small-town Oregon teacher (Keri Russell) and her brother (Jesse Plemons), the local sheriff, who discover that a young student (Jeremy T. Thomas) is harbouring a dangerous secret with frightening consequences. The feature is adapted from a short story by Channel Zero creator Nick Antosca.
JT Corbitt, Graham Greene, Scott Haze, Rory Cochrane, and Amy Madigan also star in the film which Cooper says has influences ranging from John Carpenter to Andrei Tarkovsky. Antosca, Cooper and C. Henry Chaisson penned the script.
Antlers opens on April 17th.
