Starz has given fans exciting news by officially giving the go-ahead to not one, but three new series to join the previously announced Power Book II: Ghost.
All four of these new shows are to be set within the same world as the show and all will be launched into active production and development at the same time. Lionsgate Television will produce all with Courtney A. Kemp and Curtis ’50 Cent’ Jackson executive producing.
Power Book II: Ghost is a sequel series that picks up where the original show leaves off and will star Mary J. Blige, Method Man, and several members of the original cast.
Power Book III: Raising Kanan will be a prequel series set in the 1990s during the early years of the character of Kanan Stark.
Power Book IV: Influence will follow Rashad Tate in his pursuit of political power. Larenz Tate will reprise his role as Rashad.
Power Book V: Force centers on Tommy Egan after he cuts ties and puts New York in his rearview mirror for good. Joseph Sikora will return as Tommy.
Jeffrey Hirsch, president and CEO of Starz says in a statement:
“In television history, only a select few shows have inspired four consecutive series extensions, launched into active production and development at the same time. These new and exciting chapters will continue the journey of some of ‘Power’s’ most controversial characters while featuring a growing ensemble of complex, distinct characters along with the high-octane drama that set ‘Power’ in a class of its own.”
In addition, all the series will be available on the network’s international platform StarzPlay, which will give subscribers worldwide access day and date with those in the United States.
