A report out of Malaysian publication Lowyat, claims AMD will start selling the Ryzen 3 2300X to the general public starting on March 3. The CPU has only been available to OEM companies so far.

The 12nm, 65W TDP Ryzen 3 2300X (codename Pinnacle Ridge) features four cores sans imultaneous multithreading (SMT), meaning there are only four threads. The chip sports a 3.5 GHz base clock and 4 GHz boost clock with 8MB of L3 cache.

The chip suports 16 PCIe 3.0 lanes and a dual-channel memory controller with native support for DDR4-2933 RAM modules. The Ryzen 3 2300X also comes AMD’s Wraith Stealth CPU cooler. The processor has an unlocked multiplier for overclocking too.

We don’t know the price at this time. Right now the The Ryzen 5 1600 “AF” model costs $85. It packsĀ  two more cores along with SMT support and more L3 cache. So will need to below that price by fair amount to have a place in the market.
