Toshiba expanded its LED-backlit TVs again today focuing on mainstream consumers. The UL605 series replaces the UX600 with a thinner shape despite using its edge-lit LED backlights and a 120Hz panel. It still has a bundled USB Wi-Fi adapter for access to Vudu movies, Flickr and Picasa photos, DLNA media sharing and Facebook or Twitter social networking.
The sets come in the same 40-, 46- and 55-inch sizes and carry similar prices of $1,399, $1,699 and $2,499. All of them are available today.
The SL400 is a 720P set aimed for bedrooms and kitchens,. It comes with a USB port each for local music and photos as well as a pair of HDMI inputs. The model ranges in size between 19 and 32 inches with prices between $349 and $699. All SL400 models are already shipping.
