Gefen has announced to new products designed to improve the home audio experience by stabilizing volume levels and making connectionss easier.
Turning Down The TV Gets Easier
The new GefenTV Auto Volume Stabilizer with Digital Audio Decoder is at CEDIA this year. Like the original Auto Volume Stabilizer, this new model automatically levels the volume on all television programs, movies and CDs to make audio more consistent, and eliminates loud audio spikes during commercials. It also further enhances performance with the ability to use another Dolby decoding technology of 5.1 digital audio and output in two-channel (L/R) analog format, making it ideal for integrating into a current high fidelity system.
A perfect companion when channel surfing or listening to different CDs recorded with different volume levels, this device will perform an automatic volume stabilizing function that will retain the normal ups and downs of audio in a movie, for example, while still stabilizing the volume output to avoid unnecessary volume spikes. A bypass function is also included to disable the automatic volume stabilizing function, for the purists.
The product accepts three different audio inputs: two digital (coax; optical) and one analog (L/R). All three inputs can be connected at the same time, with users switching between sources using a selector button on the device or by the included IR remote. Using Dolby Pro Logic II technology, the Auto Volume Stabilizer with Digital Audio Decoder supports today’s most popular 5.1 surround sound systems.
When not in use, the Auto Volume Stabilizer with Digital Audio Decoder is automatically placed in standby mode, using just 1 watt of power that will eliminate unnecessary power drains when not in use, making it a green product.
Make the Connection Via HDMI
With the GefenTV HDMI to HDMI with Audio Converter, consumers now have a plug and play device to create surround sound audio using the HDMI signal from any Blu-ray player, set-top box, gaming console, or any source using HDMI. Audio from the HDMI input is extracted and delivered simultaneously in both digital (S/PDIF) and analog (7.1 LCPM) audio formats. Consumers have the option to select from two-channel, multi-channel and 7.1 surround sound, as they desire. The same HDMI input is also output to any HDTV display, supporting video resolutions up to 1080p full HD with 3DTV, deep color, lip sync and HDCP compliance.
Existing surround sound amplifiers and audio/video receivers that don’t have HDMI can be connected directly to the GefenTV HDMI to HDMI with Audio Converter, bypassing the need for purchasing a new audio system while delivering a high fidelity experience that sounds excellent in home theaters of all sizes.
