Sony today annnounced it will start shipping the Surround Sound System for the PS3 next week. It was first shown to the public at this years’ E3.
The speaker bar has a built-in subwoofer and is aimed at both game or movie fans whio live in tight spaces. It complements the look of the PS3 and has an optical connection along with an analog input for other sources.
It ships with its own remote control, and users can choose from standard, stereo, vivid or dynamic sound fields, as well as night or dialog sound modes for softening up the bass or enhancing conversations from games or movies
The integrated subwoofer gets 30W of power, while each front speaker is powered by 10W. The unit supports DTS, Dolby Digital, MPEG-2 AAC and Linear-PCM audio formats.
The sound bar ships as soon as next week in the US and Canada, priced at $179.99.
