Microsoft has released Messenger for Mac 8, the latest version of the IM product. The update maintains a focus on Office integration for Windows Live users, sans the gaming and social features recently added to Messenger 2011 for Windows.
Messenger 8 allows users to collaborate with friends on Windows or Mac computers, cellphones, or Hotmail e-mail. Aside from instant messaging, the software also provides options for video or audio calls.
The latest version of Messenger for Mac will be offered later this week alongside Office for Mac 201. The standalone version is already available as a free download.
