Sprint will soon be carrying the ZTE Peel, an iPod touch case that enables 3G data. The case operates as a mobile hotspot, converting a 3G signal into Wi-Fi for a Touch and as well as a second nearby device of the user’s choice. It is only compatible with second and third eneration Touches. It does not work with the current fourth gen model, which has rear and front facing cameras.
The case requires a $30 data plan, which gets users 1GB of data per month, with an overage rate of 5 cents per megabyte. The plan can be activated on a month-to-month basis, similarly to an iPad plan with AT&T or Verizon. The case itself costs $80, and should be available on November 14th.
