Logitech today rolled out a mouse aimed chiefly at the home theater computer audience. The M515 has a smooth, sealed underside that won’t collect fibers or dirt used on a soft surface. A hand sensor can automatically shut off the tracking laser, both to avoid accidental input but also to extend the battery life to two years.
The ambidextrous design uses Logitech’s more advanced metal scroll wheel with an option to freely spin for fast scrolling. As an RF-based mouse, it needs Logitech’s Unified Receiver in a USB port to work but is also less prone to interference. It should work with both Macs and Windows PCs.
UK Only?
The M515 so far has only been given a UK release date and will ship there in April for £50 ($80). Virtually all Logitech devices reach the US and usually cost less than in the UK, but shipping and price details have not been disclosed for the US market.
