Nikon at the CP+ camera show launched two L-series Coolpix entries. Its L120 is a major leap from the L110 and zooms out much further, to 21X. It still shoots 720p video and up to ISO 6,400 (in low resolution), but a resolution boost to 14 megapixels and a twice as sharp 921,000-pixel, three-inch LCD improve the actual and perceived detail.
More budget minded buyers have the L24. It has a less costly 3.6X lens and considerably reduced (and as yet unspecified) light sensitivity, but it can shoot still images at 14 megapixels.
An L120 will cost $280, while the L24 will carry a $120 asking price. Nikon expects both to be ready for the end of this month.
