Canon on Wednesday announced the upcoming US release of five new portable projectors for professionals. They include the LV-8225, which has a 16:10 aspect ratio, 2,500 lumens of brightness and 1280×800 resolution, along with the closely-related LV-7490, LV-7390, LV-7295 and LV-7290. All five share auto-setup for the input and PC signal type, as well as vertical keystone correction.
Canon finds pros value low maintenance, and thus made the lamp last up to 6,000 hours in Quiet Mode for all but the LV-7490, where it lasts 5,000 hours. The filters are rated for 5,500 hours in all five when set to Eco Mode.
The wide-angle 1.2x zoom allows for shorter throw distances. In Quiet Mode, the projectors produce 29dB of sound.
An Ethernet jack and RS-232C serial port allow for hooking each device up to a network or for remote computer control.
The LV-7490 has a native resolution of 1024×768 and 4,000 lumens of brightness. The LV-7390, LV-7295, and LV-7290 models share the same resolution as the 7490 but offer 3,000, 2,600, and 2,200 lumens of brightness, respectively.
All five arrive in stores in April, with the LV-8225 priced at $800, the LV-7490 at $1,100, the LV-7390 at $800, the LV-7295 at $700, and the LV-7290 at $600
