RIM’s plans for the BlackBerry Bold Touch were confirmed this weekend after a leak of tutorial videos spoiled its plans. Also now called the 9930, the Bold Touch appears to have the rumored larger display but otherwise looks a match for the regular Bold 9780 on the outside. The key addition found in N4BB’s clips would be the touchscreen, which combined with BlackBerry 6.1 would give it multi-touch for zooming into photos and websites.
Apart from the touchscreen, the Bold Touch promises mostly to be an improvement in speed, with a Snapdragon processor and 720 Pmovie making added to the familiar design. NFC would be new and support wireless payments.
The new business flagship, along with much of RIM’s 2011 roadmap, could be shown off at BlackBerry World in early May. Some of it might not ship immediately, however.
