The National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences will now officially include video games more prominently as respectable candidates for the Grammy Awards.
Making adjustments to four categories, video game music is listed as acceptable candidates for The Music of Visual Media, Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media, Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media, and Best Song Written for Visual Media.
Video games certainly are a visual media and it’s about time their music was recognized along side the rest. Too bad this wasn’t down in time for the likes of Halo, Final Fantasy IV and Nights Into Dreams sound tracks.
