T-Mobile on Tuesday made a late commitment to full launch details for the LG G-Slate. The tablet ship on Wednesday, April 20th, for the promised $530 on a two-year contract, though only for existing T-Mobile phone subscribers; the price rises to $630 for others.
The Android 3.0 device now has a contract-free price but will set users back $750 in its lone 32GB edition, or $20 more than an equivalent iPad 2. The carrier hasn’t explained the higher price, but the second five-megapixel camera on the back may play a significant role. LG’s design needs the dual rear cameras to record 3D video at 720p. T-Mobile also packs in a pair of red-blue 3D glasses to see 3D video on the 2D, 8.9-inch display.
