SiliconDust will soon release its latest product, the HDHomeRun Prime, judging by a product listing on Amazon. It has three tuners and thus allows for the recording of three shows at a time when connected to a Windows 7 PC and controlled by popular DVR software, including Windows Media Center. Unencrypted digital cable and premium digital cable programming is supported through an inserted CableCard.
The hub can output at up to 1080i, and a buffer gives some DVR features out of the box to pause or rewind live TV. Users have to bring their own storage device for the recordings, and a dual-core chip along with at least 2GB of RAM is recommended. The device can act alone or be added to existing HDHomeRun devices.
