Mark/Space has updated The Missing Sync for Android to v1.6. The upgrade adds support for syncing bookmarks and tasks, as well as compatibility with Android tablets from Motorola, Samsung and Barnes and Noble, including the Xoom and the Nook Color. The new services require users to download two free apps, Fliq Tasks and Fliq Bookmarks, which are newly available alongside the existing Fliq Notes and Fliq Calendar. The Fliq series allows sync with both Macs and Windows PCs.
Missing Sync is additionally designed to handle contacts and media files, such as JPEGs and MP3s. It syncs data with programs like iCal and Address Book on the Mac, or Outlook on the Windows side. It also provides Proximity Sync, transferring over Wi-Fi or Bluetooth whenever an Android device comes within range.
The program supports Android 1.5 or higher, although 2.0 is required for Bluetooth sync. Macs must be running at least Mac OS X 10.5.6, plus iTunes 7.4, iPhoto 5 and iCal 2.0.5 to sync music, photos and calendars. Entourage 2008 is the minimum for Entourage sync, and Outlook 2011 is needed for syncing Outlook calendars and tasks. QuickTime 7.0 is required for video. On the Windows side people must have Windows XP SP3, Vista SP1 or 7.
Missing Sync for Android is $40 for a single user, $70 in a family pack and $90 in a business edition. There are also 5-, 10- and 25-pack options available.
