PlayStation Network users will receive two free PlayStation 3 or PlayStation Portable titles as part of a package Sony plans to roll out following a data breach that knocked out its online service.
As part of the “Welcome Back” appreciation program, PSN users will get to choose two of the following five available PS3 games: Dead Nation, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet, Super Stardust HD and Wipeout HD + Fury.
PSP owners can choose two of the following four titles: LittleBigPlanet, ModNation Racers, Pursuit Force and Killzone Liberation.
The titles will be available for free for 30 days right after the PlayStation Store has been rebooted, Sony says in a statement on the official PlayStation blog.
Among other items Sony will offer: a selection of free movie rentals for one weekend, free PlayStation Plus subscriptions (30 days for non-members, 60 days for members) and 100 free virtual items for PlayStation Home.
The “Welcome Back” package is part of an effort to compensate PSN subscribers after a massive data breach knocked out the network for nearly a month. Last Saturday, Sony began a phased restoration of PSN to allow users to play games online, check out friends’ lists and manage accounts.
