The classic boardgame Ticket to Ride has today been released for the iPad. Players collect and play matching train cards to claim railway routes connecting cities, with longer routes meaning more points. The iPad app uses the original game’s artwork, and supports both AI opponents and multiplayer. Humans opponents can be using iPads, Macs or PCs.
A North American map is provided by default. Through in-app purchases, people can further download European, Swiss and USA 1910 boards. The game also includes video and in-game tutorials, and a Hall of Fame that works both on- and offline.
Ticket to Ride runs on iPads with iOS 4.2 or better. The base app costs $7; the expansions are $1 each for this week only.
