XtremeMac has announced several products combining Bluetooth streaming and charging for iOS devices, the InCharge Home BT and InCharge Auto BT. The two devices support hands-free, wirelss connectivity with iPhones, iPads and the iPod touch. The home version plugs into a wall and connects to home audio gear via a 4-foot AUX cable. It then pairs with a Bluetooth-enabled iOS device, streaming music to the home system. It has a Bluetooth LED indicator and offers a 30-pin cable for 10-watt charging.
The auto charger offers Bluetooth connectivity and an AUX cable to attach to a user’s car stereo. It has a USB port for charging an iPhone or iPad and connects to the car’s 12-Volt accessory outlet for power. It offers 10-watt charging and has a button for switching between playback and call answering. A self-resetting fuse protects the device from power spikes.
The two chargers are listed as Made for iPod/iPhone/iPad, but, as they offer USB charging and Bluetooth connectivity, should also work with most other devices, such as Android handsets. Each costs $80 and both are listed as coming soon.
