ASUS has used Computex 2011 to take the wraps off an expanded line of gaming products. The flagship devices are the new ROG G53S Naked Eye 3D notebook and a new desktop, the ROG CG8565 Gaming System. A range of other devices including new motherboards, video cards, a monitor and a gaming headset joins these.

The ROG G53S Naked Eye 3D notebook uses an Intel Sandy Bridge Core i7 processor and NVIDIA GTX 560M graphics. It gets its name from its ability to display 3D images without the need for glasses. It can also show images in 2D and 3D simultaneously in separate windows. It includes 2GB of dedicated video memory, a 10,000rpm hybrid hard-drive with SSD partition for reduced boot times, 3DTV Play connectivity, THX and EAX 5.0 3D sound.

The ROG CG8565 Gaming System comes equipped with Intel’s latest Z68 chipset-based motherboard as well as a range of overclocking features for its choice of Core i5 or Core i7 Intel Sandy Bridge processors. It uses an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 590 GPU. It has a dedicated “Level Up” overclock button on its fascia, automatically boosting performance using ASUS’ DIGI+ VRM technology.

Also unveiled at Computex 2011 are three new ROG motherboards based on the latest Intel and AMD chipsets. The Maximus IV GENE-Z and Maximus IV Extreme-Z both use the Intel Z68 chipset, while the Crosshair V Formula is the first AMD 990FX-based motherboard supporting both 3-Way SLI and CrossFireX, and with a graphical UEFI BIOS. Two new NVIDIA GTX 580-based graphics cards, the MATRIX GTX580 and MARS II have also been added to the ROG range.

A new Vulcan ANC gaming headset with active noise-cancelling technology has also been added to the ROG line as has the new VG278H 3D 27-inch display designed for gaming.
