HTC will delay the European version of the Evo 3D smartphone, and it will now arrive in September in the UK. This represents a two-month delay, and no reason was revealed. Vodafone UK this week backed away from the Evo 3D entirely and said it will no longer bring the glasses-free 3D handset to its lineup.
Vodafone did give a reason, however, saying that the delays will make it less competitive than other devices due out soon. The handset will be available in the UK at the Carphone Warehouse in September, HTC said.
The European version mostly differs through the necessary GSM radios, while the US has a CDMA version which was available since June. Canada is getting a GSM version through Rogers, but it’s not certain if this model is being affected.
