IconFactory has announced an update for their Twitter app, Twitterific v4.3 for Mac OS X and iOS, which adds support for syncing reading positions across the Twitter timeline across all platforms, and also adds improved scrolling in Lion, support for viewing iOS photography app Camera+’s images inline and the usual assortment of minor improvements and fixes. The update also improves t.co and Twitter picture handling, adds support for tweet notifications via Growl in the Mac version of the app, and more.
Version 4.3 uses a Tweet Marker API to keep track of where a user is their timeline, displaying it as a bookmark. Opening Twitterific on another device will inherit the bookmark, and can automatically scroll to that position if desired. Timeline synching can also be turned on or off by the user as they choose.
Twitterific is a universal iOS app for the iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch, with a separate app for the Mac available either via the Mac App Store or directly from IconFactory. The application is free for single-account use, and users can upgrade in-app to the full version, which enables multiple Twitter accounts and removes all advertising. The Mac full version is on sale to promote the new update, now selling for $5 (normally $10) for a limited time
