Thunderbolt Display Now Shipping Within Two to Four Weeks

Apple has identified a narrower shipping timeframe for the Thunderbolt Display, a check of the company’s online store shows. The monitor is now listed as shipping in two to four weeks. When it was originally announced in late July, the peripheral was only slated to launch sometime within 60 days.

The Thunderbolt Display is a 27-inch IPS LCD, essentially an evolution of the existing Cinema Display. Because it is designed around Thunderbolt though, it can run video alongside data from integrated FireWire, Ethernet and USB ports using a single cable. To actually make use of these extra ports, though, requires a Thunderbolt-equipped Mac. A MagSafe power connector is included for MacBook users.
