Instructions for installing a software update have been posted to the support page for the HTC Arrive on the Sprint website. Although it is not referred to by name, the timing and list of features indicate that this is the widely-anticipated Mango update for Windows Phone 7 devices. Features listed on the support page that point to Mango include multitasking, an IE9-based web engine with HTML5 support, and Twitter integration.
Sprint’s release is actually ahead of the official Windows Phone update page, which only says the release is scheduled for “less than 10 days.”
The update requires connecting the Arrive to a PC running the Zune client.
