Motorola on Friday revealed two new Bluetooth headsets that, when combined with Motorola’s My MotoSpeak app, allow users to compose and send text messages using just voice. The Elite Sliver and Elite Flip will also read incoming texts. Another unique feature is their use of NFC technology, with a touch to a compatible handset all that’s needed to pair them.
Motorola also promises a connection range of up to 300 feet thanks to Class 1 Bluetooth tech. Otherwise, HD Audio Plus is said to boost voice clarity while CrystalTalk dual-microphone technology does its best to eliminate unwanted noise.
The My MotoSpeak will soon be available for free from the Android Market, although it’s not needed for those with iPhones or other platforms. The Elite Sliver includes a protective charging case that will provide the headset with up to 15 hours of talk time without plugging in. It weighs less than half an ounce.
The Elite Flip adds a so-called TrueComfort design that offers three distinct wearing styles. Opening the headset turns in to and closing it turns it off to save power. The battery is rated at six hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time.
The headsets will become available from Motorola’s online store on October 24, with the Elite Sliver priced at $130 and the Elite Flip at $100.
