The Samsung Galaxy Nexus has officially gone on sale in the UK. Samsung UK marked the occasion by posting an image on Twitter of a lucky user (@uvarvu) it calls the “world’s first Galaxy Nexus owner.” The launch of the phone also marks the first time a phone carrying Android 4.0 has been for sale.
The Galaxy Nexus has an 4.65-inch Super AMOLED 720p-capable display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor matched with 1GB of RAM, and LTE (or Petaband HSPA+). It also incorporates a 5-megapixel camera with “zero shutter lag” that can shoot in 1080p, and carries a 1.3-megapixel camera for video chatting. Other components include, an accelerometer, gyro, compass and barometer.
