Verizon has finally confirmed that it will launch Motorola’s Xoom 2 tablets sometime in December. The carrier also admitted that it will split from the traditional naming scheme, referring to the devices as the “Droid Xyboards” to add the Droid badge that adorns several other high-end smartphones in the company’s inventory. As expected, the Xyboards will be available in two variations: a traditional 10.1-inch model and a smaller 8.2-inch counterpart. Both tablets share a dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of RAM, while pairing a five-megapixel primary camera with a 1.3-megapixel front-facing sensor.
Verizon has yet to commit to pricing scheme or launch date, however the tablets are said to be on the way sometime this month.
