Monster Digital, known for its memory cards, said Friday that it’s planning to enter the solid-state drive space. The LeMans series will use some of the faster memory controllers on tap, peaking at 550MB per second in read speeds and 515MB per second in writes. Most details have been left out until the unveiling, which is slated for the CES expo in mid-January.
Also coming at the Las Vegas show will be new 800X CompactFlash cards for high-end DSLR owners as well as SD cards. Their details are again unknown, although Monster has been defining its line by their ruggedness relative to other cards.
