An upcoming portable digital camera from Canon has been spotted online. The PowerShot SX240 HS will get a 20X zoom rather than the 14X zoom of its SX230 HS predecessor. Also likely is the addition of the company’s new DIGIC 5 processor and a slightly higher megapixel count, though these haven’t been confirmed as the image is the only thing to go by thus far.
The camera is likely to be made official at the CP+ digital imaging show scheduled for next week.
Like the SX230 HS introduced last year, likely features are a GPS sensor for geotagging images as well as 1080p video capture. The current version sports a three-inch LCD screen, a pop-up flash, and a dynamic image stabilization mode. The Movie Digest feature lets users put photos into a video.
