Since debuting along with first-person shooter Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 last November, the online service Call of Duty Elite has netted 1.5 million paid subscribers, publisher Activision revealed.
More than 7 million players have registered to use the service, Activision said during an earnings call on Thursday.
Elite features a free component with statistics and other data players can peruse, while the annual subscription gives users early access to downloadable maps and other content.
Two maps for the Modern Warfare 3’s multiplayer mode have been released, and a third download is slated for later this month.
