Bryan Fuller’s “Hannibal” project has received a direct-to-series order from NBC, which has picked up 13 episodes of the thriller TV series based on Thomas Harris’ character, reports Entertainment Weekly. Here’s the logline:
One-hour contemporary thriller series featuring the classic characters from Thomas Harris’ novel Red Dragon – FBI agent Will Graham and his mentor Dr. Hannibal Lecter – who are re-introduced at the beginning of their budding relationship.”
Previously the show was described as centering “on Lecter’s early days, namely his time going head-to-head with FBI agent Will Graham. The back story between the two characters were alluded to in Thomas Harris’ novel ‘Red Dragon’ and the films ‘Manhunter’ and ‘Red Dragon.'”
