IK Multimedia has just posted its new professional DJ mixing app, the DJ Rig for $1.99 on iTunes. The iOS 4.3 or newer iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch app brings a double-deck virtual mixer to a user’s music library in either landscape or portrait orientations. Users get automatic tempo sync and beatmatching features, along with sample-based pads and performance recording.
Creative DJ effects are also available, including low-pass, band-pass, high-pass, delay, stutter, and phaser, along with eight built-in sound banks and one adjustable cue point. All of these effects can be automatically synced to the tempo. Basic controls include volume, pitch, a three-band Kill EQ, headphones, and a cross-fader.
A new CloneDeck feature lets users scratch with a realistic feel and sound. There is a recorder function too, which lets users export their creations to their computers.
An in-app Pro bundle purchase will unlock more features, including Flanger, Comp, Fuzz, Reverb, Auto Wah, and Crash effects, seven extra sound banks, three more cue points and a digital deck interface. It costs $4.99.
