Foursquare recently updated its BlackBerry application to version 3.9. The most significant new feature is NFC (near field communications) on certain BlackBerry models, such as the Bold 9900, to let users simply tap their handsets on NFC stickers to share their locations.
The update also includes improvements for overall app speed and GPS performance, as well as the option to have Foursquare updates sent directly to a user’s main BlackBerry inbox.
The revised app also pushes notifications (badge alerts, messages, comments) into the main inbox on the device.
The app is free to download, but requires BBOS 7.1 for the NFC features.
