SanDisk announced three other new products enhancing existing product lines. Joning the already unveiled the Extreme Pro microSDHC UHS-I card are Extreme USB 3.0 flash drive, the thin Cruzer Pop USB Drive, and a new high-capacity Cruzer Glide. Each product emphasizes something different — the SDHC card boasts fast read/write speed for a card, the Extreme USB 3.0 sports the new faster USB interface, the Cruzer Pop is extremely thin, and the extension of the Cruzer Glide line provides mass USB flash storage.
With a new USB 3.0 interface, the SanDisk Extreme USB 3.0 flash drive reads and writes up to 160MB per second. The drive is backed by a limited lifetime warranty, and available in 16GB to 64GB capacities with an MSRP between $65 and $160.
The established Cruzer Glide line is boosted by a higher capacity model — 128GB. Intended for ultra-thin laptops where storage may be at a premium, the new capacity will be available in the fall for an MSRP of $250.
Cruzer Pop drives are SanDisk’s new line of stylish USB flash-based storage. The colorful drives snap open with an eponymous pop, and are available now in 8GB to 32GB capacities. Retail prices vary between $33 and $85.
All of the new products include the SanDisk SecureAccess file encryption software suite, providing 128-bit AES encryption for private files. Online storage is provided to SanDisk customers for backing up a maximum of 2GB of files as well, through the Yuuwaa service.
