Today on their official blog RIM (Research In Motion) announced theat they will be releasing BlackBerry Desktop Manager software in September. The company had provided some support for Macs with the preview version of BlackBerry Media Sync for Mac last December, and is now working to further soldify their relationship with BlackBerry enthusiasts who are also Mac users.
Some key features of BlackBerry Desktop Manager are:
- Sync iTunes playlists, calendars, contacts, notes and tasks
- Add/Remove applications
- Update the device when new software becomes available
- Backup and restore device data with such features like automatically scheduled backups and optional encryption
- Manage multiple devices
The software will support Mac OS 10.5.5 and above and those interested can sign up at www.blackberry.com/mac to get notified as to when the software is available.
