Sony has launched three new wireless speakers in Europe. The SA-NS310, NS410 and NS510 speaker units all use Wi-Fi to stream audio from room to room, can use AirPlay for music from a collection on iTunes or Sony’s own Music Unlimited streaming service, and can also be controlled by the free Sony Network Audio Remote app for iOS and Android devices. An Ethernet connection is also provided, for a more permanent installation.
The round design claims to put out full 360-degree directional sound. While the NS310 uses a single full-range woofer, the NS410 and NS510 opt for four outward-facing 30mm cone tweeters and an integrated 110mm cone woofer. The NS510 also adds portability to its arsenal, with a battery claimed to last around five hours.
Out now in Europe, the NS310 will be on sale for around £150 ($235), the NS410 for £200 ($310), and the NS510 for £300 ($470). A US release has not been announced as of yet.
